Extended Rwanda Explorer

The Extended Rwanda Explorer is a 9-day, 8-night Rwanda tour package from $14,000 per person, part of our Mid-Range tier. A nine-day extended version of our classic Rwanda circuit, adding an extra day on Lake Kivu for coffee touring and relaxation between Nyungwe's chimpanzee trekking and the Volcanoes region's mountain gorilla trekking day.

Day by day, this Rwanda safari package unfolds as follows. On Day 1, city tour and welcome dinner. On Days 2-3, game drives and a boat safari. On Days 4-5, chimpanzee trekking and the canopy walkway. On Days 6-7, coffee and tea plantation tour, boat trip and relaxation. On Day 8, drive to the Volcanoes region and trek to visit a mountain gorilla family. On Day 9, transfer back to Kigali for departure.

Like every Rwanda tour package on this site, the Extended Rwanda Explorer is priced per person and includes gorilla + chimp permits, private vehicle & driver-guide, 8 nights full-board boutique lodges, and all park fees, activities & transfers, with no hidden fees added after booking. A 60% deposit ($8,400) confirms your dates and secures permits and accommodation, with the remaining 40% due 20 days before travel. This itinerary is designed for Private tour, any group size, and like all of our Rwanda safari packages it can be adjusted further — extra days, a different lodge category, or combined with another itinerary — to fit exactly what you have in mind.
